Hunting for jobs nowadays is a very competitive and sometimes cut-throat affair. Here are a few tips to help you get the edge in searching out and landing the job of your dreams. You can make sure that you tailor your CV to the position you are applying for by looking closely at the jobs vacancies advert.

Your CV
When you apply for jobs, your CV will be the most important tool you have to use. your CV is the only way that you can tell the employer you are the right person for the job and should be given an interview to demonstrate your skills.

The work experience that you list on your CV alone will influence half of all employers to give you an interview or not. A third of the employers decide to reject or accept these job applications based on the layout design of these applications.

1. Make Your CV Concise and Relevant
Do not send in a CV that is too long. It may make it irrelevant to the evaluator. Time is money to an employer so the less they have to read the better. respect the employers time and provide them with a succinct CV.

2. Always tailor your CV to the job.
You may have had previous experience that may not be related to the job you are applying for. Some people keep many different versions of their CV for different job opening purposes. one CV will not be appropriate for every job you apply for. A one-size-fits-all CV may not be the best way to go since the employer will have the impression that your previous efforts have not been focused enough to produce any specialization on your part.

3. Write about your achievements
You can include experience and achievements that you have gained out of work whilst making them relevant to the position. Making the most of your experiences is good but do not big yourself up without backing any statements up. however make sure you do not list any weak points to your job skills as this will make you stand out for the wrong reasons.
